The number one online English education platform in the Philippines and China, 51Talk, in partnership with the country’s biggest telco provider, PLDT-Smart, to support Gabay Guro Foundation through digital livelihood programs for teachers, participated recently in Gabay Guro’s Teacherfest.
Gabay Guro’s Teacherfest is an annual gathering of teachers across the country to pay tribute to their selfless service. On November 27, 2016, at the SMX Convention Center-Davao, over 4,000 teachers from Davao and Region XI attended the event where a free concert featuring balladeer Christian Bautista and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, among others, entertained the teachers. 51Talk gave away a brand new Lenovo laptop, which was won by Ronaldo Poticar, a school head from the Davao Division.
During the event, 51Talk provided a recruitment booth for teachers who are interested in joining the company as home-based online English teachers. About 500 teachers applied on the spot.
