Open packs every day and collect your favorite cards
Now you can open two free packs daily and find your favorite Pokémon cards. Players can open booster packs by consuming the pack stamina, which accumulates over time. After 12 hours, players will have enough pack stamina to open a single pack.
Use Wonder Pick to get cards that other players pulled!
In Wonder Pick, you can get one of the cards (chosen randomly) from a booster pack that was opened by another player. Try searching the list to check if any player has pulled a card you want. In addition, if you wonder pick from a booster pack obtained by a player playing in another language, you can get a card in a different language. Cards in other languages will also be registered in the card deck, so you can enjoy a more varied collection.
Introduction to a few of the cards appearing in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket
Many appealing Pokémon cards will be appearing in booster packs. Both nostalgic cards that have appeared in the Pokémon TCG before, as well as cards making their first appearance in this title, so open packs each day and find your favorite Pokémon cards:
Venusaur ex
This Venusaur ex’s illustration made its first appearance in this title. It is depicted as stretching out its vines as it heads into battle. By changing the angle as you look at certain Pokémon ex illustrations, you can enjoy illustrations that seem like they could pop out at any moment.
Greninja
The card shows Greninja valiantly pushing forward through the water. This illustration was released in the Pokémon TCG in 2013, and their abilities and attacks from that time have been changed. You can enjoy these vividly illustrated Pokémon, which are both new and nostalgic.
Pikachu
Pikachu is drawn with a gentle touch that is soothing. This illustration of Pikachu was first released in the Pokémon TCG in 1996.
Eevee
An adorable card featuring Eevee gazing with its round eyes at mysterious stones. There are some cards with special illustrations that cover the entire card. Try showing it off if you encounter one.
Articuno ex
A card depicting the Legendary Pokémon Articuno flying above an ocean through a snow flurry. This illustration would look good lined up with other cards depicting the other Pokémon in flight.
Sabrina
Trainer cards will also appear in this title. Sabrina, the Kanto region Gym Leader, will be present. Sabrina strikes an imposing figure as a Gym Leader.
Enjoy these collecting cards and find new surprises each time you open a booster pack or get cards through Wonder Pick. You can also find unexpected connections between cards, or receive rewards based on how many cards you have collected. Enjoy the game little by little and encounter all the cards.
Display boards and binders let players show off their card collection
Once you’ve found a card you like, you can show it off however you like.
You can show off your favorite cards on display boards. There are a variety of backdrops, so you can create combinations with different backdrops and card illustrations, or make it look like your cards are displayed on a table. We recommend showing off your favorite cards up close so they fill up the whole screen.
Binders let players set up their collected cards into a binder with a cover. When you want to display a lot of the cards you’ve collected, try using binders.
You can share display boards and binders of your card collection to friends or other players. You can also look at display boards and binders shared by friends and other players and like them. Enjoy collecting cards while sharing your collection with players around the world.
Fun and casual battles
Cards can be collected and also used for battles.
Battles have new rules optimized for playing on mobile devices that anyone can enjoy during small pockets of time.
How to view obtained cards
Cards you’ve obtained can be broadly classified between Pokémon cards you use to battle against opponents, and Trainer cards that offer support in battle. A set of 20 cards is called a deck, and players build decks to battle against opponents.
Pokémon
Cards that use attacks against an opponent’s Pokémon and take attacks from their opponents. Using attacks to reduce the opposing Pokémon’s HP to zero will bring you closer to victory.
Trainer cards have a variety of effects that will support you during battle. They are divided into Items and Supporters depending on usage and effect. Choosing the right timing to utilize Trainer cards can mean the difference between victory and defeat, and that makes the Pokémon TCG thrilling.
Flow of Battle
Once you’ve put together a deck, it’s finally time to battle against an opponent. Compared to the conventional Pokémon TCG, changes have been made to make it easier to play on mobile devices, such as the size of decks being changed from 60 cards to 20 cards, and attaching the Energy used for attacks from the Energy Zone.
At the same time, the deep strategic elements of the Pokémon TCG are still present, such as choosing which attack your Pokémon will use and deciding the right timing for using Trainer cards. You can battle against the computer, your friends, or anyone around the world in casual or serious battles that can be played during your downtime.
Place Pokémon on the Bench, attach Energy to them, and prepare yourself with Trainer cards.
Use attacks to deal damage to the opponent’s Pokémon. By reducing their HP to 0, you can Knock Out the opponent’s Pokémon.
You can earn points each time you Knock Out your opponent’s Pokémon. Players will continue taking turns, and the first player to reach three points wins.
Auto-battling, Rental Decks, and Auto-build even more casually
In order to enjoy battles in the Pokémon TCG more casually, features such as auto-battling, Rental Decks, and Auto-build have been prepared.
Players can use auto battling and let the computer help them in the battle. Also, obtaining certain cards allows players to use rental decks, so even players who don’t understand how to build decks can feel at ease while enjoying battling. Additionally, there is a feature that will automatically build a recommended deck using the cards you have collected, so anyone can begin enjoying casual battles.
Customization according to your preferences
There are plenty of familiar accessories from the Pokémon TCG. There are card sleeves that allow you to change the back of your cards to an image you like, play mats to change the image of the in-play zone, Pokémon coins, and more. Try to find your favorite combination.
Also, if you get duplicates of the same card, you can exchange them together with items to obtain flair. By applying flair to a card, you can have a richer experience both when displaying the card and when using it in battle.
Enjoy collecting Pokémon cards even more with trading
When you’re having a hard time looking for the card you want, it is possible to trade Pokémon cards with friends. Show each other your booster pack card deck and trade for cards that each of you wants. However, the trade feature will not be implemented at the time of release, and so stay tuned for future announcements.
