With DICT Secretary Henry Aguda
I AM SECURE 2026 Takes Flight: A Nation‑wide Cyber‑Defense Rally | On 18 March, Manila welcomed the ninth edition of I AM SECURE 2026, the Philippines’ flagship cybersecurity platform. The theme—“Soaring High: Future Ready in the Age of Intelligent Threats”—set the tone for a series of events that will run throughout the year, uniting government, industry, and academia under a single, “whole‑of‑nation” cyber‑defense strategy.

The launch press conference featured senior officials from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, the Armed Forces, and the Philippine National Police. Secretary Henry Aguda, along with Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla, Colonel Roland Ong, Brig. Gen. Wilson C. Asueta, and Police Colonel Jay Guillermo, pledged to boost data protection, law‑enforcement capabilities, and digital infrastructure, emphasizing that every sector must play its part in safeguarding the country’s digital future.
Industry leaders echoed this call for collaboration. Chito Jacinto, President of the Information Security Officers Group (ISOG), likened today’s interconnected threat landscape to an “omniverse” where isolated attacks are no longer possible. “I AM SECURE 2026 creates a unified ecosystem—government, enterprises, and tech innovators working side‑by‑side to strengthen collective defense,” he said.

ISOG Vice‑President Alvin Punsalan added that the group is expanding its reach across sectors, focusing on awareness, workforce up‑skilling, and proactive security strategies. Meanwhile, Xiameer Valdeavilla, CEO of XMS and I AM SECURE partner, highlighted the event’s role in positioning the Philippines as a high‑value MICE hub in a market projected to exceed US$269 million, supporting a digital economy valued at over US$35 billion.
The 2026 calendar is packed with knowledge‑sharing opportunities: CXO Connect Series 1 (17 June), CXO Connect Series 2 (5 August), and the ISOGx Conference Season 4 (October, SMX Convention Center, BGC). Backed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Department of Finance, and a chorus of cybersecurity alliances (ISACA Manila, ISC², Cloud Security Alliance, and more), the initiative enjoys robust support from titanium, platinum, gold, and silver sponsors—including F5, Rapid7, Forcepoint, and Infoblox.
I AM SECURE 2026 isn’t just an event; it’s a catalyst for a resilient, future‑ready Philippines—where smarter threats meet smarter defenses.
