Our nation is sick. We are sinking deeper and deeper into a dark hole where corruption and impunity from those who we trusted to serve us, are becoming the norm. We, your doctors who have sworn to heal the sick, have done our best to care for you, our dear countrymen and women, especially during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. We did so without regard for politics or even our own safety. But the corruption, incompetence, and impunity we have witnessed and lived through, the blatant profiteering amidst all the suffering, are too much for us to remain silent anymore.
We Filipinos are good at the core. We are noble, helpful, joyful, full of hope, and God-fearing. But if we allow ourselves to continue on our current course, we will lose our souls. We cannot go on this way. We need to reclaim our nation; for our sake and the sake of future generations.
This collective statement of indignation and call to action, is an expression of the sentiment of your doctors, leaders in our respective fields, but above all, healers. We have seen the malignancy. We need to address it. We can only do this Together; united with all of you, as Filipinos who love our country.
We can do this.
