Bravo Filipino | Manila | CIAP Steps Up: Board Moves to Probe Flood Control Project Irregularities
The Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) Board met on August 29, 2025 to take action on reports of alleged anomalies and questionable practices tied to flood control projects and contractor licensing.
In the meeting, the Board highlighted its mission to promote honesty, accountability, and good governance in the construction sector, vowing to work closely with government agencies to strengthen oversight and prevent malpractice.
Here’s what the Board decided:
- Summoning EGB Construction Corp. – CIAP’s Board Governance Committee will formally investigate the company over alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
- PCAB Accountability – The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board was told to report all findings from its ongoing probe of contractors earlier flagged by the President and Senator Ping Lacson. PCAB must also review its processes and tighten its safeguards.
- Independent Review – To ensure impartiality, CIAP will hire a third-party agency to look deeper into alleged problems in contractor licensing.
The Board stressed that these moves are part of its full support for the country’s anti-corruption initiatives, assuring the public that the construction industry will be guided by transparency and ethical practices.
